Hydrologic Outlook

Hydrologic Outlook issued April 19 at 2:42PM CDT by NWS Shreveport LA

ESFSHV An upper level disturbance will begin moving our way late tonight resulting in periods of showers with embedded thunderstorms across the region after midnight. This rainfall will only become more widespread as we go through the day Saturday and especially Saturday Night. Look for widespread rainfall amounts of near one to three inches with isolated higher amounts possible. The rainfall should quickly exit the Four State Region from west to east during the day Sunday. While rainfall rates will likely not be excessive enough to result in widespread flash flooding, poor drainage and flood prone areas will be susceptible to flooding. The greater impacts will likely come from already swollen bayous, lakes and rivers which remain high from previous rainfall. This forecast rainfall will likely result in either a slow down to recent falling trends or additional rises on most all area waterways that will continue into next week.
