Q) How often is the map updated?
A) The traffic flow is updated at loadtime and upon movement outside the initial map view, or upon refresh of the page. Any incident markers are checked for updates approximately every 5-10 minutes, but you need to reload the page to load any new updates; the data provided may still be the same status/view as before. Information shown is as only reliable as how it is reported to us.Q) The roads are backed up or closed, but the map does not show the reason why, what's the deal?
A) Municipal traffic monitors or GPS trackers may not be available, could be offline, or reports and alerts are not syndicated to media outside of the area to use on the map. This is especially true for rural areas. You are encouraged to leave a road conditions report to help others.Q) I see traffic alerts in the box below for the state, but they aren't related to the area I'm in?
A) We attempt to display alerts as specific to the area as possible, however in some cases the data we receive will only allow us to provide it by county or even statewide.Q) Are you an official source of traffic information?
A) We are not an official source of traffic or real-time data. We have contracts and licenses to display certain up-to-date information that comes direct from some DOTs in various states, and the traffic flow on the maps is provided by Google or MapQuest. However, the data shown here should only be used for light informational and reference purposes and not to make critical decisions. Your safest option on the web is to use your state-run traffic website, or to call the DOT traffic line for your state, local authorities, or the state's 511 number if available.

Permanent Road Closure on SR-2840 In Asheboro
Crews will be closing and providing a cul-de-sac at Foothills Dr approx. 1000 ft from it's intersection with Tall Pine St. beginning 9/21/17. Crews will also be opening a new realignment that will access the remaining portion of Foothills Dr and will intersect with Hillary Ct. Local traffic will access this portion of Foothills Dr. from Manorview Rd and Hillary Ct.

Lanes Narrowed on SR-2824 Near Asheboro
Crews will shift traffic on Pine Hill Rd to a temporary alignment near the Pine Hill Rd / Fleta Brown Rd intersection to allow for bridge construction. This temporary alignment will be in place beginning Tuesday (1/25/17) at 12 PM until 2018.

Road Closed on SR-1326 Near Asheboro
Crews will be permanently closing the existing Stutts Rd (SR 1326) at it's intersection with US Hwy 64 as part of the Asheboro Bypass project on Thursday (7/27) at 8:00 AM. Local traffic will access Stutts Rd from US Hwy 64 via Back Creek Ch. Rd.

Road Closed on SR-1325 Near Asheboro
Crews will be permanently closing the existing Emerald Rock Rd (SR 1325) at it's intersection with US Hwy 64 and traffic will be shifted to a new roadway intersecting with nearby Stutts Rd as part of the Asheboro Bypass project. Crews will close the existing intersection with US Hwy 64 and shift traffic to the new permanent roadway simultaneously on Thursday (7/27) at 8:00 AM. Local traffic will access Emerald Rock Rd from US Hwy 64 via Back Creek Ch. Rd and Stutts Rd.
DETOUR: US Hwy 64 traffic will head south on Back Creek Ch. Rd for 0.8 mile, turn left onto Stutts Rd heading east for 1.3 miles, turn right onto new Emerald Rock Rd

Road Closed on SR-1145 In Asheboro
Crews will open a new road realignment of Southmont Dr. (SR 1145) as part of the Asheboro Bypass project beginning Monday (8/14) at 5:00 PM. Traffic will be shifted to the new roadway now named Southmont School Rd. beginning near Valley Grove Rd. (SR 1211) and will follow the roadway to it's intersection with Fayetteville St. (US 220 Bus) near Cedar Grove Rd. (SR 2926). The existing Southmont Dr. will be cul-de-saced near it's overpass of I-73/74 and is closed to all traffic beginning 9/19/17.

Lane Closed on NC-42 In Asheboro
Crews will be closing a lane of travel to safely allow for construction operations beginning Thursday (9/28) until Saturday (9/30) from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. On Saturday (9/30) crews will shift NC 42 traffic to a temporary alignment on a new bridge over future US 64. This shift will take place near Miles Moffitt Rd (SR 2828) and will be in place until late 2017.
