Q) How often is the map updated?
A) The traffic flow is updated at loadtime and upon movement outside the initial map view, or upon refresh of the page. Any incident markers are checked for updates approximately every 5-10 minutes, but you need to reload the page to load any new updates; the data provided may still be the same status/view as before. Information shown is as only reliable as how it is reported to us.Q) The roads are backed up or closed, but the map does not show the reason why, what's the deal?
A) Municipal traffic monitors or GPS trackers may not be available, could be offline, or reports and alerts are not syndicated to media outside of the area to use on the map. This is especially true for rural areas. You are encouraged to leave a road conditions report to help others.Q) I see traffic alerts in the box below for the state, but they aren't related to the area I'm in?
A) We attempt to display alerts as specific to the area as possible, however in some cases the data we receive will only allow us to provide it by county or even statewide.Q) Are you an official source of traffic information?
A) We are not an official source of traffic or real-time data. We have contracts and licenses to display certain up-to-date information that comes direct from some DOTs in various states, and the traffic flow on the maps is provided by Google or MapQuest. However, the data shown here should only be used for light informational and reference purposes and not to make critical decisions. Your safest option on the web is to use your state-run traffic website, or to call the DOT traffic line for your state, local authorities, or the state's 511 number if available.

US 220 is under construction to widen the road from SR 2182 (Horse Pen Creek Road) to the existing intersection of NC 68 in Rockingham County.

Both directions of traffic will be shifted onto the new southbound lanes to allow the contractor to build 2 bridges, 2 culverts and the new northbound lanes. This will effect the interchange at US-220 and NC-65 and US-220 and US-158.

Congestion on SR-4121 In Greensboro
The Greensboro Coliseum Complex will be hosting a morning event which is expected to draw 11,000 patrons to the area and surrounding roadways. In anticipation of the increased traffic volume surrounding this event, Coliseum personnel and the Greensboro Police Department will be managing major intersections in the vicinity of the Complex. Variable messaging systems located along highways I-40, I-85, I-73, US-29, US-220 and US-421 will be displaying messages to advise motorists with traffic information.The Greensboro Coliseum Complex, GPD, GDOT and the North Carolina DOT advise all patrons to plan to arrive at least one hour early and carpooling is strongly encouraged.

Milford Road has been permanently closed at the access to US 29 as part of the NCDOT Eastern Loop construction project. Milford Road will only be accessible from Hicone Road. All motorists on Milford Road must access US 29 from Hicone Road interchange.

McLEANSVILLE — NCDOT will temporarily close Camp Burton Rd. in McLeansville beginning at 9:00 am on Monday, July 27. The road will be reopened to traffic by 6:00 am the following Monday, August 3.The road is being temporarily closed to accommodate bridge construction operations as part of the Greensboro Eastern Loop Project.

Beginning Monday, July 27 - Nightly lane closures on Northbound and Southbound NC 68 will be used to accommodate paving operations from 8pm to 6am. Lane closures will be on NC 68 between Bryan Blvd. and Edgefield Road. Work will take place Monday night thru Saturday night for approximately 1 month. Traffic will be maintained at all times. Message boards and Greensboro Police will be used for additional traffic control.
