...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Nevada... Owyhee River near Mountain City affecting Elko County. .Warm temperatures will melt high mountain snowpack and increase river flows. For the Owyhee River...including Wildhorse Dam, Wildhorse, Mountain City...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is observed. * WHERE...Owyhee River near Mountain City. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 9.0 feet, Moderate flooding occurs along the river channel. River embankment erosion occurs. Rodeo grounds are flooded. Low-lying hay fields and pasture flooding occurs. Businesses located along the river in Mountain City experience water seepage. Water has to be pumped from the Visitor Center. River level is nearing the level of the Boney Lane Bridge spanning the Owyhee River, and Nevada State Highway 225 between Mountain City and Owyhee. Access to Pleasant Valley is impacted. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 4:10 AM PDT Tuesday the stage was 8.3 feet. - Bankfull stage is 7.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 4:10 AM PDT Tuesday was 8.4 feet. - Forecast...The river is forecast to continue to gradually rise in the coming days, remaining in minor flood stage. - Flood stage is 8.0 feet. - Flood History...No available flood history. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
