FAQs
Q) How often is the map updated?
A) The traffic flow is updated at loadtime and upon movement outside the initial map view, or upon refresh of the page. Any incident markers are checked for updates approximately every 5-10 minutes, but you need to reload the page to load any new updates; the data provided may still be the same status/view as before. Information shown is as only reliable as how it is reported to us.

Q) The roads are backed up or closed, but the map does not show the reason why, what's the deal?
A) Municipal traffic monitors or GPS trackers may not be available, could be offline, or reports and alerts are not syndicated to media outside of the area to use on the map. This is especially true for rural areas. You are encouraged to leave a road conditions report to help others.

Q) I see traffic alerts in the box below for the state, but they aren't related to the area I'm in?
A) We attempt to display alerts as specific to the area as possible, however in some cases the data we receive will only allow us to provide it by county or even statewide.

Q) Are you an official source of traffic information?
A) We are not an official source of traffic or real-time data. We have contracts and licenses to display certain up-to-date information that comes direct from some DOTs in various states, and the traffic flow on the maps is provided by Google or MapQuest. However, the data shown here should only be used for light informational and reference purposes and not to make critical decisions. Your safest option on the web is to use your state-run traffic website, or to call the DOT traffic line for your state, local authorities, or the state's 511 number if available.

Description: White Sands Missile Range periodically has missile firings over US 70 and/or US 380. During the firings the road or roads will be temporarily closed. Please call 575-678-1178 for daily information on possible closure dates and times for firings. This is a permanent alert and will not be updated regularly. (dm)

Title: US 82 from mile marker 16 Cloudcroft to mile marker 35 Mayhill

Title: Interstate 10 eastbound and westbound from mile marker 151 (MESQUITE) to mile marker 155 (VADO)
Description: The NMDOT with El Terrero Construction has the west and eastbound ramps at Mesquite open. The Vado west and eastbound on and off ramps are CLOSED. Motorists may access the Mesquite or Anthony exits and utilize the frontage roads. Traffic control is posted alerting motorists to reduce speed throughout the work zone as heavy equipment and workers are present. Proceed with caution.

Title: New Mexico 4 northbound and southbound from mile marker 12 to mile marker 46
Description: FAIR DRIVING CONDITIONS on NM 4, mile marker 12-46 (from South of Jemez Springs to Los Alamos County Line). Road is wet. Visibility is good. Please drive with caution, reduce speed and obey all posted traffic signs. This event will be updated as conditions change.

Description: Monday 2/2 from 4 am to 9 pm (Road Safe Traffic Systems) N_M 47 both directions at mile marker 4.5 (just north of U_S 60 at the railroad crossing) will be closed for railroad crossing repair. Detour posted using N_M 3_04 and U_S 60.

Title: New Mexico 460 from mile marker 1 to mile marker 3
Description: In Anthony, NM the NMDOT and Smith and Aguirre are working on installing a storm culvert drain pipe under NM 460 from Miller Street to Landers Drive. The contractor will construct a pond beside the Community Development Center, along with mill and inlay from New Mexico/Texas state line to O'Harra Road/NM 460. The project will also have new ADA compliant features such as sidewalks with landing and turnouts along NM 460.
