Winter Weather Advisory issued April 18 at 4:36AM AKDT until April 18 at 11:00AM AKDT by NWS Anchorage AK

* WHAT...Rain, snow and blowing snow expected. Additional snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches. Winds gusting as high as 55 mph. Reduced visibility as low as one half mile at times. * WHERE...Eastern Aleutians. * WHEN...Through 11 AM AKDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Rain and snow showers are expected at sea level with all snow showers expected at higher elevations. The combination of heavier snow and gusty winds could significantly reduce visibility at times. Snow shower intensity and winds are expected to decrease later this morning, though light snow could linger through tomorrow morning.
