FAQs
Q) How often is the map updated?
A) The traffic flow is updated at loadtime and upon movement outside the initial map view, or upon refresh of the page. Any incident markers are checked for updates approximately every 5-10 minutes, but you need to reload the page to load any new updates; the data provided may still be the same status/view as before. Information shown is as only reliable as how it is reported to us.

Q) The roads are backed up or closed, but the map does not show the reason why, what's the deal?
A) Municipal traffic monitors or GPS trackers may not be available, could be offline, or reports and alerts are not syndicated to media outside of the area to use on the map. This is especially true for rural areas. You are encouraged to leave a road conditions report to help others.

Q) I see traffic alerts in the box below for the state, but they aren't related to the area I'm in?
A) We attempt to display alerts as specific to the area as possible, however in some cases the data we receive will only allow us to provide it by county or even statewide.

Q) Are you an official source of traffic information?
A) We are not an official source of traffic or real-time data. We have contracts and licenses to display certain up-to-date information that comes direct from some DOTs in various states, and the traffic flow on the maps is provided by Google or MapQuest. However, the data shown here should only be used for light informational and reference purposes and not to make critical decisions. Your safest option on the web is to use your state-run traffic website, or to call the DOT traffic line for your state, local authorities, or the state's 511 number if available.

Gallup Traffic Alerts
Title: Interstate 10 eastbound and westbound from DEMING WEST exit at mile marker 81 to 2.1 miles West of CAGE exit at mile marker 61
Description: FR 1019 is CLOSED which runs adjacent to I 10 in Deming Motorists will be alerted to seek an alternate route. This section of roadway is closed due to flooding and running water in low areas.

Title: US 550 northbound and southbound at mile marker 53
Description: Bridge work on US 550, mile marker 53 (just south of Cuba) will have a 10' width restriction with concrete wall barrier in place. Work will begin on 3/19/14 until the project is complete. Please drive with caution, reduce speed and obey all posted traffic signs. This event will be updated as conditions change.

Title: US 60, 5 miles East of Fort Sumner at mile marker 332
Description: Construction has ceased until Spring 2014 on access improvements for the De Baca County Waste Transfer Station on US 60 east of Ft. Sumner. Contractor: Robert E. Rivera Construction Inc. 575-472-3891

Title: US 70 southbound from 5.7 miles West of Mescalero at mile marker 240 to 9.2 miles West of Mescalero at mile marker 237
Description: NMDOT crews will be chip sealing on US 70 southbound from mile marker 240.9 to mile marker 237.4 on Monday, August 25, 2014 through Thursday, August 28, 2014, weather permitting. Motorists can expect one lane closures with flaggers and pilot cars and short delays and are advised to watch for personnel and equipment in the area and obey all construction signage. Title: US 380 at mile marker 52
Description: White Sands Missile Range periodically has missile firings over US 70 and/or US 380. During the firings the road or roads will be temporarily closed. Please call 575-678-1178 for daily information on possible closure dates and times for firings. This is a permanent alert and will not be updated regularly. (dm)

Title: Interstate 40 westbound from mile marker 153 to mile marker 154
Description: Project A300303 / I-40 / 98th and Unser Interchange Improvement (Jeremy Maestas Project Manager/AUI Inc. Contractor) Project will add an additional off ramp lane • Tuesday 9/2 through Thursday 9/4 from 9 pm to 5 am each evening – I_40 westbound at Unser will be CLOSED!! Detour will be south on Unser to Central and back to I_40 on 98th.
