FAQs
Q) How often is the map updated?
A) The traffic flow is updated at loadtime and upon movement outside the initial map view, or upon refresh of the page. Any incident markers are checked for updates approximately every 5-10 minutes, but you need to reload the page to load any new updates; the data provided may still be the same status/view as before. Information shown is as only reliable as how it is reported to us.

Q) The roads are backed up or closed, but the map does not show the reason why, what's the deal?
A) Municipal traffic monitors or GPS trackers may not be available, could be offline, or reports and alerts are not syndicated to media outside of the area to use on the map. This is especially true for rural areas. You are encouraged to leave a road conditions report to help others.

Q) I see traffic alerts in the box below for the state, but they aren't related to the area I'm in?
A) We attempt to display alerts as specific to the area as possible, however in some cases the data we receive will only allow us to provide it by county or even statewide.

Q) Are you an official source of traffic information?
A) We are not an official source of traffic or real-time data. We have contracts and licenses to display certain up-to-date information that comes direct from some DOTs in various states, and the traffic flow on the maps is provided by Google or MapQuest. However, the data shown here should only be used for light informational and reference purposes and not to make critical decisions. Your safest option on the web is to use your state-run traffic website, or to call the DOT traffic line for your state, local authorities, or the state's 511 number if available.

Title: New Mexico 170 from mile marker 16 to mile marker 17
Description: FarmingtonThe New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) will begin bridge replacement work on NM 170 between mile post 16.534 and mile post 17.141 north of Farmington near the Colorado State Line. This work includes the installation of six (6) 66" culvert pipes and roadway reconstruction of NM 170 at this location. Motorists are advised that there will be intermittent lane closures on the northbound and southbound lanes and traffic will be restricted to one lane. There will be an 9' lane width restriction. The bridge replacement project is scheduled for completion end of summer 2015; weather permitting. AUI Inc. out of Albuquerque, New Mexico is the contractor for this project. Drivers are urged to proceed through the work zone with caution, observe traffic control signs and reduce speed to the posted limits.

Title: US 54 southbound at mile marker 114
Description: NMDOT will be performing repairs on US 54 at mm 114.7 Southbound lane will be closed. Northbound lane will be open to traffic. Portable Traffic Lights are in place for traffic control. Speed limit has been reduced to 35MPH in this area. Motorists can expect delays and should reduce speed and obey all posted signs and traffic signal.

Title: US 70 eastbound and westbound at mile marker 185
Description: White Sands Missile Range periodically has missile firings over US 70 and/or US 380. During the firings the road or roads will be temporarily closed. Please call 575-678-1178 for daily information on possible closure dates and times for firings. This is a permanent alert and will not be updated regularly. (dm)

Title: US 550 eastbound and westbound at mile marker 1
Description: Ongoing and until further notice (RMCI/Town of Bernalillo) U_S 5_50 both direction at Don Tomas (Bernalillo) will have various lane closures at night and daytime shoulder work for intersection improvements.

Title: US 54 northbound and southbound from mile marker 130 to mile marker 146
Description: Roadway construction is underway on US 54.The contractor will be working Monday thru Friday from 6:30am to 5:00pm. An 11' WIDTH RESTRICTION is in effect for both north and south bound lanes from mm 130 to mm 146. Motorists can expect one-lane closures in this area and are asked to observe construction signing and watch for personnel working in the area. Expected completion is Summer 2015. Title: New Mexico 136 from mile marker 1 to mile marker 3
Description: NM 136 Pete Domenici Hwy near Sunland Park is experiencing high volumes of traffic during the morning hours at the Santa Teresa Port of Entry. Please expect delays should you be crossing the border with intentions of export vehicles from the US. All proper documentation must be presented when entering the port.

Title: Interstate 25 northbound and southbound from mile marker 293 to mile marker 294 (CANONCITO)
Description: Santa Fe The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) began bridge replacement work on I-25 north of Santa Fe at Canoncito between mile markers 293 and 294. The scope of the project includes bridge rehabilitation, roadway and ramp reconstruction, and pavement rehabilitation for 1.42 miles within Santa Fe County. Tom Griego is the NMDOT Project Engineer. AUI is the contractor for this project. Traffic Impacts: Tthe cross road under I-25 (Sleeping Dog Road) and the I- 25 southbound ramp is CLOSED. This closure remains in effect until June 2015. Local traffic and residents on the south side of I-25 will be detoured to the Valencia Exit 297 to access I-25 South. Local traffic and residents on the north side of I-25 (Old Las Vegas Highway) will be detoured to the Lamy Exit 290 to access I-25 northbound and southbound. -All lanes are OPENED on the I-25 northbound and southbound lanes anes. Project anticipated to be completed July 2015; weather permitting. NMDOT urges motorists to proceed through the work zone with caution, watch for construction personnel.

Title: New Mexico 174 from mile marker 2 to mile marker 4
Description: Roadway is impassible on NM 174 within the Glenwood area due to large debris that has covered various areas along the route from past rain and snow fall. The NMDOT is currently working on removing the run off, and will make any necessary roadway repairs once the area is clear. Updates will be posted as conditions change.

Description: Fence replacement. The Contractor will be working Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. Motorists should watch for equipment and personnel in the workzone and adhere to all construction signage. Estimated completion is Spring of 2015. Title: New Mexico 549 from mile marker 23 to mile marker 25
Description: A portion of NM 549 east of Deming is CLOSED due to roadway construction. The contractor is currently doing reconstruction on the bridge along this route. The NMDOT has posted detours and traffic control alerting motorists of this workzone. Please proceed with caution.

Title: New Mexico 126 eastbound and westbound from mile marker 10 to mile marker 25
Description: DIFFICULT DRIVING CONDITIONS on NM 126 from mile marker 10-25 (from east of Cuba to the Fish Hatchery) Dirt road is very muddy in spots. 4-wheel drive recommended Visibility is good. Please drive with caution, reduce speed and obey all posted traffic signs. This event will be updated as conditions change.

Title: New Mexico 159 from mile marker 12 to mile marker 23
Description: NM 159 near Mogollon from mile marker 12 - 23 is now CLOSED for the Winter. Safety measures have been placed in order to secure the area for the traveling public. Please avoid this route until conditions change in 2015.

Title: New Mexico 460 from mile marker 1 to mile marker 3
Description: In Anthony, NM the NMDOT and Smith and Aguirre are working on installing a storm culvert drain pipe under NM 460 from Miller Street to Landers Drive. The contractor will construct a pond beside the Community Development Center, along with mill and inlay from New Mexico/Texas state line to O'Harra Road/NM 460. The project will also have new ADA compliant features such as sidewalks with landing and turnouts along NM 460.
