FAQs
Q) How often is the map updated?
A) The traffic flow is updated at loadtime and upon movement outside the initial map view, or upon refresh of the page. Any incident markers are checked for updates approximately every 5-10 minutes, but you need to reload the page to load any new updates; the data provided may still be the same status/view as before. Information shown is as only reliable as how it is reported to us.

Q) The roads are backed up or closed, but the map does not show the reason why, what's the deal?
A) Municipal traffic monitors or GPS trackers may not be available, could be offline, or reports and alerts are not syndicated to media outside of the area to use on the map. This is especially true for rural areas. You are encouraged to leave a road conditions report to help others.

Q) I see traffic alerts in the box below for the state, but they aren't related to the area I'm in?
A) We attempt to display alerts as specific to the area as possible, however in some cases the data we receive will only allow us to provide it by county or even statewide.

Q) Are you an official source of traffic information?
A) We are not an official source of traffic or real-time data. We have contracts and licenses to display certain up-to-date information that comes direct from some DOTs in various states, and the traffic flow on the maps is provided by Google or MapQuest. However, the data shown here should only be used for light informational and reference purposes and not to make critical decisions. Your safest option on the web is to use your state-run traffic website, or to call the DOT traffic line for your state, local authorities, or the state's 511 number if available.

Description: White Sands Missile Range periodically has missile firings over US 70 and/or US 380. During the firings the road or roads will be temporarily closed. Title: US 285 from mile marker 248 to mile marker 250
Description: The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) began work on the U.S. 285/ I-40 interchange at Clines Corners on September 2, 2014. This improvement work includes the lengthening and realignment of the westbound exit ramp, the realignment of the westbound entrance ramp, and the lengthening of the eastbound on and off ramps on I-40. The U.S. 285 bridge over I-40 will be widened 24 feet to accommodate two lanes of traffic each way. The work on U.S. 285 from mile marker 248.84 to mile marker 250.46 includes the reconstruction and widening of the existing lanes to accommodate two lanes of traffic each way. Other work on the project includes new drainage structures, new curb and gutter, new signing and the installation of an intelligent transportation system. Traffic Impacts: Motorists can expect minor delays due to a flagging operation on U.S. 285 at mile marker 249, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There will be intermittent lane closures on I-40 eastbound and westbound lanes at Clines Corners. Drivers are urged to proceed with caution through the work zone, observe traffic control signs and reduce speed to the posted limit.

Title: New Mexico 88 eastbound and westbound at mile marker 1
Description: Road construction is on NM 88, mile post 0.000 to mile post 1.100, Start July 7, 2014. Lane Closures, NMDOT urges motorists to proceed through the work zone with caution, watch for construction personnel, observe traffic control signing, and reduced speed to the posted speed limit. Description: Highway Supply will be replacing existing signs with new ones. This work will be taking place on the shoulders on US 70 from MM 178 to MM 328. Description: NM 136 Pete Domenici Hwy is experiencing high volumes of traffic during the morning hours at the Santa Teresa Port of Entry. Please expect delays should you be crossing the border with intentions of export vehicles from the US. All proper documentation must be presented when entering the port.

Description: NM 344 - - Starting September 2 NMDOT maintenance crews will be completing chipseal operations. Motorists can expect minor delays Monday - Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. There will be a single lane closure and there will be a flagger and pilot car escort. Title: US 82 eastbound and westbound from mile marker 175 to mile marker 191
Description: The project consists of Roadway Rehabilitation, Processing, Placing and Compacting Existing Pavement, Shoulder Work and Permanent Signing. Construction will begin July 24, 2014. The project is for 320 Calendar Days ending in June 2015. There will be one lane closure throughout the project with pilot car operation thru the work zones. There is an 11' width restriction. Please adhere to the Construction Signing and watch out for workers. Traffic will be slowed down to 45 MPH and 35MPH throughout the work zones. Double Fines will be enforced. Title: US 70 from mile marker 329 to mile marker 336
Description: Road Construction tenitively set to resume between the US 70 intersections of 2nd Street (Roswell Relief Route) and the US 70 overpass with North Main Street. on Thursday September 16th or as roadway surfaces dry. Hours will be 6:00 am to 7:00 pm, M-F. Work is anticipated to complete by September 26, 2014. A Maximum width restriction of 10' will be in place for West & Southbound Overpass ramps only.
