Q) How often is the map updated?
A) The traffic flow is updated at loadtime and upon movement outside the initial map view, or upon refresh of the page. Any incident markers are checked for updates approximately every 5-10 minutes, but you need to reload the page to load any new updates; the data provided may still be the same status/view as before. Information shown is as only reliable as how it is reported to us.

Q) The roads are backed up or closed, but the map does not show the reason why, what's the deal?
A) Municipal traffic monitors or GPS trackers may not be available, could be offline, or reports and alerts are not syndicated to media outside of the area to use on the map. This is especially true for rural areas. You are encouraged to leave a road conditions report to help others.

Q) I see traffic alerts in the box below for the state, but they aren't related to the area I'm in?
A) We attempt to display alerts as specific to the area as possible, however in some cases the data we receive will only allow us to provide it by county or even statewide.

Q) Are you an official source of traffic information?
A) We are not an official source of traffic or real-time data. We have contracts and licenses to display certain up-to-date information that comes direct from some DOTs in various states, and the traffic flow on the maps is provided by Google or MapQuest. However, the data shown here should only be used for light informational and reference purposes and not to make critical decisions. Your safest option on the web is to use your state-run traffic website, or to call the DOT traffic line for your state, local authorities, or the state's 511 number if available.

Road Closed with Detour on SR-2849 South of Asheboro
Road Closed to replace single lane bridge.
DETOUR: Signed detour route, from SR-2849 (Bachelor Creek Rd.) continue northeast on Old State Highway 13 for 1.2 miles. Turn Left onto SR-2909 (Woodfern Road) for 2.3 miles. At stop sign turn right onto SR-2903 (Osborn Mill Rd.) for 1.2 miles to stop sign at SR-2846 (Bachelor Creek Rd.).

Road Closed with Detour on SR-1566 South of Archdale
Bridge Department is replacing a crossline pipe. 
DETOUR: From Fairview Church Rd (SR 1566) to Deaton Rd (SR 1568) to Robbins Ctry Rd (SR1567) to Archdale Rd (SR 1004) to Trinity Rd (SR 1004) and in the reverse direction.

Road Closed with Detour on SR-1163 South West of Asheboro
Road Closed to replace timber bridge with concrete structure.
DETOUR: Signed detour route, from Union Church Rd. continue south on NC-49 for 2 miles, turn right on Science Hill Rd. for 0.3 miles, turn right on Lassiter Mill Rd. for 1.5 miles to Old NC-49. Turn right onto Old NC-49 for 1.5 miles. Then right onto Union Church Rd.

Bridge replacement
DETOUR: Use Lassiter Mill Rd, High Pine Rd and New hope Rd. Follow Detour signs.

Road Closed with Detour on SR-1003 Near Seagrove
Construction crews are replacing the bridge on Erect Road over Fork Creek. Motorist are advised to follow detour.
DETOUR: Bennett Road (SR1002) to Riverside Road (SR2873)

Lanes Closed on I-85 Near Archdale
The contractor will be removing/replacing guardrail, clearing vegetation, replacing existing drainage structures and resurfacing the I-85 section of highway from Davidson County to Guilford County. 
DETOUR: While the contractor is actively working, the speed limit in the work zone will be 60 mph, with a $250 fine for speeding. 1 of 3 lanes could be closed in either the northbound and/or the southbound direction.

Lane Closed on I-85 Near Trinity
The right lane will be closed in the north bound direction while construction crews work on the outside shoulder as they replace guardrail and work on drainage.

Lane Closed on I-85 Near Archdale
The right lane will be closed starting at the Guilford/Randolph County line to the Randolph/Davidson County line on I-85 South , as construction crews work on the shoulders.
