Lane Closed on US-70 East of Asheville
US 70 (Tunnel Rd.) will be reduced to one lane in the eastbound direction, while crews adjust manholes.  The lane will be reduced starting at the intersection of US 70 (Tunnel Rd.) and US 74 Alt (S. Tunnel Rd.) continuing through NC 81 (Swannanoa River Rd.).  Construction will start on Monday and continue throughout the week.  The project is under contract with Cooper Construction.

Lane Closed on US-25 South of Biltmore Forest
US-25 will be under contract with Graham County Land Company.  The existing road is under construction for a new sidewalk.  Construction will begin in November and finish in late 2016

Road Closed with Detour on SR-3197 South of Royal Pines
Bridge #363 in Buncombe County on SR 3197 (Lower Christ School Rd) will be replaced by a new structure.  SR 3197 (Lower Christ School Rd) will be closed from the intersection at SR 3116 (Mills Gap Rd) to 200 feet west of the existing structure.  An off-site detour will be set up to provide access to SR 3197 (Lower Christ School Rd).  The detour will utilize SR 3116 (Mills Gap Rd) on to SR 3136 (Cane Creek Rd) and then onto SR 3197 (Lower Christ School Rd).  The project is under contract with Miller Engineering and is expected to end in the fall of this year.

Culvert over an unnamed tributary to Flat Creek on SR-2806 (Garren Creek Rd) will be replaced. Road will be closed with an off-site detour during this construction.
DETOUR: Detour route around this project will consist of the following roads: SR-2820 (Whitaker Rd), SR-2782 (Whitaker Rd), SR-2776 (Old Fort Rd), and SR-2786 (Flat Creek Rd).

Culvert over Herron Cove Creek on SR-2098 (Herron Cove Rd) will be replaced. Road will be closed with an off-site detour during this construction.
DETOUR: Detour route around this project will consist of the following roads: SR-2101 (Longs Chapel Rd) and SR-2102 (Herron Cove Rd).

Road Closed with Detour on SR-1607 West of Weaverville
Bridge #100012 in Buncombe County on SR 1607 (Bear Creek Rd) will be replaced by a new structure.  SR 1607 (Bear Creek Rd) will be closed from the intersection at SR 1610 (Martin Branch Rd) to the intersection of SR 1631 (Old Turkey Creek Rd) only local traffic will be allowed.  An off-site detour will be set up to provide access to SR 1607 (Bear Creek Rd).  The detour will utilize SR 1610 (Martin Branch Rd) onto SR 1612 (Gibbs Rd) then onto SR 1608 (Turkey Creek Rd.) and then onto SR 1607 (Bear Creek Rd).  The project is under contract with Dane Constructors and will finish late summer of this year.

Lane Closed on SR-1397 West of Weaverville
Bridge #100676 in Buncombe County on SR 1397 (Surrett Cove Rd) will be replaced by a new structure.  SR 1397 (Surrett Cove Rd) will be reduced to a one lane one way pattern utilizing a flagging operation while the structure is replaced.  The project is under contract with Dane Constructors and will finish late of this year.

Road Closed on NC-694 North East of Asheville
Ameritech Slope Constructors, Inc. will be removing loose rock along a slope leading down towards NC-694 (Town Mountain Rd) near SR-2048 (Mt. Olive Church Rd). In order to protect motorists from debris, NC-694 will be closed along this section during this operation.

Congestion on NC-280 Near Asheville
The reconfiguration of the I-26/NC-280 interchange (Exit 40) is under contract with Young & McQueen Grading Company Inc. All lanes are open; however, travelers may expect some congestion during the daytime due to the new Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) traffic pattern and continued construction of this interchange project.

Lane Closed on NC-280 South of Asheville
Over the next few weeks, Contractors will be continuing various nighttime construction operations at the NC-280 interchange over I-26. The traveling public can expect slight congestion and lane closures along NC-280 at various points throughout the night in and around the project site.

Congestion on I-26 Near Asheville
Bridge replacement on I-26 over SR-3431 (Pond Rd).  All lanes are open; however, travelers can expect congestion during the daytime due to the construction of the new bridge. In order to safely navigate the public through the current phase of this bridge replacement, the posted speed limit through this project has been reduced to 50 mph.

Lane Closed on I-26 North of Asheville
Future I-26 (US 19/23) from the I-240 interchange northwest of Asheville to SR-1781 (Broadway St.) will be under contract with Rogers Group, Inc. This two mile stretch of roadway will be rehabilitated with construction ending in the Spring of this year (weather permitting).

I-240 from the I-40 interchange southwest of Asheville to the Smokey Park bridge will be under contract with Rogers Group, Inc. This three and a half mile stretch of roadway will be rehabilitated with construction ending in the Spring of this year (weather permitting).
