Freezing rain is expected causing slippery conditions. Freezing rain continues over northwestern Alberta and will expand eastwards this evening and overnight. Freezing rain will end this evening in Western regions and by Tuesday morning in eastern Alberta. The city of Fort McMurray will be near the northern edge of the freezing rain band. Highway 63 to the south will see freezing rain Monday evening. The city itself should see mostly snow. ### Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. There will be a risk of patchy freezing rain until late Tuesday morning for some areas.
