* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...A portion of eastern North Carolina, including the following areas, Coastal Onslow, Duplin, East Carteret, Inland Onslow, Jones, Northern Craven, Pamlico, Southern Craven and West Carteret. * WHEN...From 2 PM EDT this afternoon through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Scattered to numerous thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon and evening, with the potential for multiple rounds of thunderstorms. A broad area of 1 to 3 inches of rain is expected, with isolated higher amounts of 3 to 5 inches possible where thunderstorms are most persistent. The combination of recent rainfall, new rainfall, and excessive rainfall rates is expected to support a risk of flooding and flash flooding this afternoon and evening. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of eastern North Carolina, including the following areas, Beaufort, Greene, Lenoir, Mainland Dare, Mainland Hyde, Martin, Northern Outer Banks, Pitt, Tyrrell and Washington. * WHEN...Through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Widespread heavy rain and thunderstorms are ongoing across portions of ENC, and this is expected to continue for at least several more hours. Flooding and flash flooding is ongoing in this area, and the risk of flooding is expected to extend into early this morning. Some of the hardest hit areas have received 3 to 6 inches of rain, with an additional 1 to 3 inches likely. Additional rainfall totals of 1 to 2 inches are expected, with locally higher amounts. A northwest to southeast front over central NC will provide a corridor of rounds of thunderstorms this very heavy rain. One round will occur in some areas this morning, while the additional rounds are expected this afternoon into tonight. Some areas have already seen 4+ inches of rain in 12 to 24 hours. Additional heavy rain will produce life threatening flash flooding. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...A portion of central North Carolina, including the following counties, Alamance, Anson, Chatham, Cumberland, Davidson, Durham, Edgecombe, Forsyth, Franklin, Granville, Guilford, Halifax, Harnett, Hoke, Johnston, Lee, Montgomery, Moore, Nash, Orange, Person, Randolph, Richmond, Sampson, Scotland, Stanly, Vance, Wake, Warren, Wayne and Wilson. * WHEN...Through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Training and repeating thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall will occur today and tonight. Some areas have had 4+ inches of rainfall already. Additional corridors of 2 to 5 inches of rain may fall today. If training occurs over the same areas that have already had heavy rain or in urban areas, life threatening flash flooding can quickly result. Green Mill Run At Green Mill Run in Greenville affecting Pitt County. * WHAT...Major flooding is occurring. * WHERE...Green Mill Run at Green Mill Run in Greenville. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 10.0 feet, Any travel in the vicinity of the stream on the southeast side of Greenville is likely impossible as at least several feet of water inundates roads near crossings. Numerous homes and businesses adjacent to the stream are likely surrounded by water, with some structures inundated by a few feet of water. Swift flowing water across the roadway is likely just east of the intersection of 14th street and Charles Boulevard. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1:40 AM EDT Monday the stage was 10.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 1:40 AM EDT Monday was 10.0 feet. - Forecast...No forecast is available for this location. - Flood stage is 7.5 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
