* WHAT...Dangerous rip currents. * WHERE...Cape Hatteras to Ocracoke Inlet beaches. * WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The most likely time for strong rip currents to occur is a couple hours either side of low tide, which will occur around 2 PM this afternoon.

Lumber River Near Lumberton affecting Robeson County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Cape Fear River at William O Huske Lock And Dam 3. * WHEN...Until Tuesday evening. * IMPACTS...At 45.0 feet, Flood waters will affect lowlands along the east bank of the river with some minor overflow along the west bank. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:00 AM EDT Friday the stage was 42.8 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 44.9 feet early Sunday morning. Lumber River Near Lumberton affecting Robeson County. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Lumber River near Lumberton. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Flood waters deepen in the Pines and Coxs Pond areas as well as along River Road. Flood waters may affect Carthage Road. Several homes will become isolated or inundated between the Pepsi plant and the river.
