Emigrant Gap Warnings, Watches and Advisories

Coastal Flood Advisory issued September 29 at 2:54PM PDT until October 1 at 5:00PM PDT by NWS San Francisco CA

* WHAT...Up to 1.2 ft of inundation above ground level is possible in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. * WHERE...Bayshore locations along the San Francisco Bay, San Pablo Bay, and Monterey Bay. * WHEN...Now through 5 PM PDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected. High tides will result in flooding along coastal trails, cut off access to some low- lying beaches and coastal areas, and bring water and waves farther up the beach than typical. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...At the San Francisco tidal gauge, high tide is expected to be 1.2 ft above normal (7.03 ft MLLW) at 2:10 PM Wednesday 9/30, and 1.1 ft above normal (6.92 ft MLLW) at 2:58 PM Thursday 10/01. These predictions include up to 0.7 ft of surge that will enhance the astronomical tide and flooding threat. High tide varies up to 90 minutes earlier or later along the Pacific Coast and through the San Francisco Bay, respectively.

Minor tidal overflows, especially during the late morning high tides. * WHERE...Catalina and Santa Barbara Islands, Ventura County Beaches, Malibu Coast and Los Angeles County Beaches. * WHEN...Through Wednesday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Pooling of sea water is possible around high tide at beach and harbor areas that is uncommon with normal tidal ranges. Enhanced beach erosion is also possible. No significant damage is expected. Rip currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea.

Enhanced beach erosion is also possible. No significant damage is expected. Rip currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea.

Coastal Flood Advisory issued September 29 at 12:55PM PDT until September 30 at 5:00PM PDT by NWS San Diego CA

* WHAT...Minor coastal flooding expected due to the combination of high tides and elevated surf. * WHERE...San Diego County Coastal Areas and Orange County Coastal Areas. * WHEN...Until 5 PM PDT Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Minor coastal flooding and minor coastal erosion expected during high tides. Additionally, elevated surf will lead to strong rip currents. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Elevated surf of 2-4 feet on south and southwest-beaches. Morning high tides are expected to peak between 6.9 and 7.1 feet between 11 AM and noon on Wednesday. These tide predictions have been corrected to reflect current trends in observed tide observations.
