* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...Portions of northern Indiana, including the following areas, Adams, Allen IN, Blackford, De Kalb, Eastern St. Joseph IN, Elkhart, Fulton IN, Grant, Huntington, Jay, Lagrange, Marshall, Miami, Noble, Northern Kosciusko, Northern La Porte, Southern Kosciusko, Southern La Porte, Starke, Steuben, Wabash, Wells, Western St. Joseph IN and Whitley, southwest Michigan, including the following areas, Branch, Cass MI, Northern Berrien, Southern Berrien and St. Joseph MI, and northwest Ohio, including the following areas, Paulding and Van Wert. * WHEN...From 2 AM EDT /1 AM CDT/ Saturday through Sunday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Recent rainfall plus additional rainfall of 1 to 3 inches late tonight into Sunday morning may cause flooding. Saint Marys River near Decatur affecting Van Wert, Adams and Allen IN Counties. Saint Marys River at St. Mary's River near Fort Wayne affecting Allen IN County. For the Wabash River...including Linn Grove, Bluffton IN, Wabash, Logansport...Moderate flooding is forecast. For the Saint Marys River...including Decatur, St. Mary's River near Fort Wayne...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Saint Marys River near Decatur. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 23.5 feet, Many east side city streets and county roads are flooded. Evacuation of east side residents near Bellmont High School becomes necessary. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 2:05 PM EDT Thursday the stage was 17.4 feet. - Bankfull stage is 15.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 2:05 PM EDT Thursday was 17.4 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 23.4 feet tomorrow morning. - Flood stage is 17.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
