Watch out for Snow in the Southeast (Today)
Today, a low-pressure system is gearing up near the Southeast Coast. As a weakening cold front moves east, expect a mix of rain and snow. From the Florida Panhandle to Central Georgia, you could see snow piles ranging from a light dusting to potentially 2-4 inches in some spots around Central Georgia. Be prepared for possible travel issues this morning. By this afternoon, the precipitation will head toward the coast, bringing snow showers to the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast Coasts. Areas like the New York City metro could see totals from 3-6 inches by Monday due to the storm's track and available cold air, with freeze warnings also in effect for spots in South Texas.
Blizzard Conditions in the Northern Plains & Upper Midwest (Today)
A strong Arctic cold front is zooming in, affecting the Central and Eastern U.S. over the next couple of days. For today, the Northern Plains to the Upper Midwest should expect snow and strong winds. Blizzard warnings are up for parts of Eastern North Dakota and Northwestern Minnesota, with gusts possibly hitting 60 mph, leading to whiteout conditions and tricky travels.
Heavy Snow Near the Great Lakes (Next Couple Days)
The Great Lakes areas are in for it, too, with heavy snow kicking up over the next few days. This evening, the snow will grow from the Upper Great Lakes and hit the Lower Great Lakes by Monday morning. Plan for several inches by Tuesday morning, so take it slow and drive safely!
