Current National Weather
Get ready for some significant weather events as monsoonal moisture brings heavy showers and thunderstorms to the Southwest, Great Basin, and Central Rockies through Monday. These rains could lead to flash flooding, especially in areas like urban spots, roads, small streams, narrow canyons, gullies, and burn scars. Meanwhile, a lingering front near the North Carolina Coast will cause showers and thunderstorms in the Southern Mid-Atlantic, and Southeast until Sunday evening. By Monday night, this wet weather moves to the Central and Western Gulf Coast. Up north, showers and storms will appear in the Northern High Plains and Northern Plains through early Monday, with additional rainfall in the Great Lakes and Northeast from Monday to Tuesday. Finally, expect a sprinkle of rain along the Northwest Coast early Tuesday.
Southwest and Central Rockies
Through Monday, we expect heavy rainfall due to monsoonal moisture. This could trigger flash flooding, especially in vulnerable areas like urban environments, roads, and burn scars. Watch out if you're in areas prone to flooding.
North Carolina Coast and Southeast
A weakening front is the culprit behind expected showers and thunderstorms until late Sunday morning. As it dissipates, areas from the Southern Mid-Atlantic to the Southeast and Central/Eastern Gulf Coast will experience wet conditions into Tuesday morning.
Northern Plains and Great Lakes
From Sunday night through Tuesday, expect thunderstorms and showers moving from the Northern High Plains, stretching out to the Great Lakes and into the Northeast. Rainfall here is due to a warm front residing in the area.
Northwest Coast
Early Tuesday might start with some scattered rain showers along the coast, so keep an umbrella handy!
