Traffic flow lines: Red/White dashed lines = Closed Road, Grey/White dashed lines = Road Work, Red lines = Heavy traffic flow, Yellow/Orange lines = Medium flow and Green = normal traffic. Black lines or No traffic flow lines could indicate a closed road, but in most cases it means that either there is not enough vehicle flow to register or traffic isn't monitored. Also, If you do not see traffic flow, you can zoom in closer to reveal localized data. If you are unable to pan the map, press here (to focus off of the map) and try again.
Traffic Incidents: Each icon represents a traffic event or incident such as road construction, closure (red circle with a white dash) or accident.
In known extreme weather events, flooding, or accidents, the map may still show green lines, even if lanes or the entire road is closed.

The upcoming days bring weather-induced travel challenges across different parts of the U.S. starting with heavy rainfall impacting Central and Southern California, and continuing with snow across the Sierra Nevada and Northern Plains. Commuters and travelers should prepare for potential delays and hazardous conditions on key roads such as Interstate 5 and Interstate 80. Above-normal temperatures in the Central Plains will provide some relief, but snow and rain will complicate travel in the North.
For those traveling in and around Los Angeles, CA and San Francisco, CA, be ready for significant rainfall starting Monday through Tuesday. Interstate 5 and Highway 101 may experience slowdowns due to wet conditions and possible flash flooding, mainly in burn scar areas. Meanwhile, the Sierra Nevada will be blanketed with heavy snow, affecting travel on Interstate 80 and Highway 50.
Snowfall will also persist in the Pacific Northwest affecting Seattle, WA, and surrounding areas, with snow extending into the Rockies. Roads like Interstate 90 and Highway 2 may see delays. Moving into Tuesday, as the cold front approaches, travelers in Fargo, ND and Minneapolis, MN should brace for a rain-to-snow transition. Interstate 94 and Interstate 35 could be tricky with the wintry mix.
For regions like Chicago, IL and Detroit, MI, roads will be more manageable with above-normal temperatures offering smoother travel. However, travelers should stay informed about any sudden changes that could impact the Interstate 70 and Interstate 90 corridors. Meanwhile, expect cooler conditions in the western states, impacting Denver, CO and Salt Lake City, UT, with potential challenges on Interstate 25 and Interstate 15.
