* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible due to thunderstorms. * WHERE...Portions of east central California, including the following area, Mono County and western Nevada, including the following area, Mineral and Southern Lyon Counties. * WHEN...From Monday afternoon through Monday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of creeks, streams, urban areas, burn scars, and areas near steep terrain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Deeper monsoonal moisture combined with daytime heating will produce scattered thunderstorms Monday afternoon and evening. * WHAT...Dangerous rip currents and breaking waves due to elevated surf expected. * WHERE...San Luis Obispo County Beaches and Santa Barbara County Central Coast Beaches. * WHEN...From 5 PM PDT this afternoon through Tuesday afternoon. * IMPACTS...There is an increased risk of ocean drowning. Rip currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Waves can wash people off beaches and rocks, and capsize small boats nearshore. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Highest surf will be focused across south facing beaches due to a southerly swell produced by Tropical Storm Elida. Additional Beach Hazards Statements or High Surf Advisories will likely be needed through the rest of the week due to a series of incoming southerly swells.

Rip currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Large breaking waves can cause injury, wash people off beaches and rocks, and capsize small boats near shore. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Highest surf will be focused across south facing beaches due to a southerly swell produced by Tropical Storm Elida. Additional Beach Hazards Statements or High Surf Advisories will likely be needed through the rest of the week due to a series of incoming southerly swells.

High Surf Advisory issued July 19 at 11:09AM PDT until July 21 at 11:00PM PDT by NWS San Diego CA

* WHAT...Large breaking waves of 4 to 7 feet with sets up to 8 feet at south or southwest facing beaches. * WHERE...San Diego County Coastal Areas and Orange County Coastal Areas. * WHEN...Until 11 PM PDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...South swell 4 to 5 feet coming from 180 to 200 degrees with a period of 12-13 seconds generating high surf, primarily for south-facing beaches. High risk of rip currents exists with high surf and strong longshore currents are expected on west-facing beaches. High tides will generally be at or below 5.5 feet, but localized areas of beach erosion and minor tidal overflow may occur when combining with the high surf. Swell and surf will decrease late Tuesday into Wednesday.
