* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of northeast North Carolina, including the following areas, Bertie, Camden, Chowan, Eastern Currituck, Gates, Hertford, Northampton, Pasquotank, Perquimans and Western Currituck and southeast Virginia, including the following areas, Chesapeake, Greensville, Hampton/Poquoson, Isle of Wight, James City, Newport News, Norfolk/Portsmouth, Southampton, Suffolk, Surry, Sussex, Virginia Beach and York. * WHEN...Through this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - The axis of heavy rain will shift east as the cold front approaches and remain across the eastern portion of the local area through the day today. An additional 1.5 to 2.5 inches of rain is expected across southeast Virginia and northeast North Carolina, with localized higher amounts possible. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Virginia, including the following counties and independent cities, City of Hampton, City of Newport News, City of Poquoson, James City and York. * WHEN...Until 700 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 106 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Newport News, Hampton, Patrick Henry Field, Christopher Newport University, Seaford, Langley AFB, Hampton University, Gloucester Point, Northampton, Tabb, Beaconsdale, Denbigh, Fort Eustis, Lee Hall, Buckroe Beach, Grand View, Fort Monroe, Oyster Point, Dare and Oriana. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
