Flood Warning issued May 7 at 8:48PM AST until May 8 at 5:45AM AST by NWS San Juan PR

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Anasco. * WHEN...Until 545 AM AST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 848 PM AST, The station near San Sebastian of the Rio Grande de Anasco is currently indicating the the river is well above flood stage. This is associated to the excessive runoff from this afternoon heavy rainfall over Lares and vicinity. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Rio Grande de Anasco and Rio Humata. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected.

* WHAT...River flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring. * WHERE...Guayanilla and Yauco. * WHEN...Until 1115 PM AST. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 812 PM AST, Emergency management reported flooding in the warned area. Between 4 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Rio Loco, Rio Yauco and Rio Guayanilla. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Dorado, Toa Alta and Toa Baja. * WHEN...Until 1230 AM AST. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 759 PM AST, Emergency management reported flooding from Rio de la Plata along portions of road PR-2, and it is currently affecting La Virgencita bridge. PR-2 was closed around km 22.8 in Dorado. The river gage TOAP4 at Dorado indicated that the river is close to major flood stage, at the current level of 22.5 ft, Barrio Chorro de Maguayo is flooded and Rio Lajas is out of its banks. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Rio de la Plata, Rio Cibuco, and tributaries. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area.

Flooding is already occurring. Between 2.5 and 4.5 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages.. Rio de la Plata. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area.

Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. Particularly along Rio Grande de Manati, and its tributaries. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 253 PM AST, Doppler radar and automated river gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Rio Grande de Manati, Rio Morovis, Rio Cibuco_Coastal Watershed and Coastal Watershed. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
