* WHAT...Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 31 expected. * WHERE...Appling, Atkinson, Bacon, Coffee, Jeff Davis, Northern Ware, and Pierce Counties. * WHEN...From 2 AM to 8 AM EST Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Appropriate action should be taken to ensure tender vegetation and outdoor pets have adequate protection from the cold temperatures. Young children, the elderly and the homeless are especially vulnerable to the cold. Take measures to protect them.

Oconee River near Oconee affecting Johnson, Wilkinson and Washington Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Oconee River near Oconee. * WHEN...Until Friday morning. * IMPACTS...At 19.0 feet, The water level begins to flood the dirt parking lot area near the Old Balls Ferry Road boat ramp...just upstream and rightbank from the Georgia Highway 57 bridge. Minor flooding continues and spreads further into the woodlands near the river. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 11:15 AM EST Monday the stage was 18.7 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 11:15 AM EST Monday was 18.7 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 18.9 feet this evening. It will then fall below flood stage early Friday morning. - Flood stage is 17.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 19.3 feet on 01/08/2023. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Minor flooding begins along the river upstream and downstream from the gage at U.S. Highway 80 or Martin Luther King Boulevard. Portions of the Ocmulgee Riverwalk and agricultural lands well downstream will be under a foot of water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:30 AM EST Monday the stage was 18.1 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 10:30 AM EST Monday was 20.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage late this morning and continue falling to 12.0 feet Saturday morning. - Flood stage is 18.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 18.1 feet on 02/04/1932. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Coosa River at Mayo's Bar near Rome affecting Floyd County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring. * WHERE...Coosa River at Mayo's Bar near Rome. * WHEN...From this morning until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 26.0 feet, Minor flooding continues in the woodlands...fields and pastures along the river upstream and downstream from the gage on the old Lock and Dam behind the Trading Post. The boat ramp will be completely under water at Lock and Dam park. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:00 AM EST Monday the stage was 27.2 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 7:00 AM EST Monday was 27.2 feet. - Forecast...No forecast is available for this location. - Flood stage is 24.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 27.2 feet on 03/26/2020. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Minor flooding occurs along the river upstream and downstream from the gage on the 14th Street bridge. Portions of the River Walk in Columbus begin to flood and will be closed to the public. The water level continues to approach the foundation of the Phenix City Amphitheater in Alabama. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 3:45 AM EST Monday /2:45 AM CST Monday/ the stage was 27.2 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 3:45 AM EST Monday /2:45 AM CST Monday/ was 30.3 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage this morning and continue falling to 22.4 feet Friday evening. - Flood stage is 27 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
