At 254 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms near Buie and Lumberton, moving east at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. This strong thunderstorm will be near... Lumberton, Barker Ten Mile, and Robeson Community College around 300 AM EDT. This includes Interstate 95 in North Carolina between mile markers 21 and 27.

* WHAT...Dangerous rip currents. * WHERE...The beaches north of Cape Hatteras. * WHEN...From Saturday morning through Saturday evening. * IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The most likely time for strong rip currents to occur is a couple hours either side of low tide, which will occur around noon Saturday.
