River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast precipitation for the next 24 hours. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Mississippi River at Louisiana. * WHEN...Until Saturday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 15.0 feet, The first quarter mile of Edison Avenue beyond the railroad tracks begins flooding near this height. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:30 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 15.4 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:30 PM CDT Wednesday was 15.7 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 15.4 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage Friday morning. - Flood stage is 15.0 feet.

It will then fall below flood stage early Saturday morning. - Flood stage is 25.0 feet.

The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency has issued an Air Pollution Action Day for Wednesday July 16th for the greater Chicago metropolitan area through Wednesday night. A Chicago Area "Air Pollution Action Day" is declared when weather conditions are such that widespread ozone and or particulate levels are expected to be at or above the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups (UGS) category of the Air Quality Index (AQI) for multiple days. Ozone is expected to be the primary pollutant of concern. Active children and adults, especially people with pulmonary or respiratory disease such as asthma, should limit prolonged outdoor activity.
