Big Black River Near Bentonia affecting Yazoo and Madison Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Big Black River at West. * WHEN...Until early Saturday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 17 feet, several thousand acres of agricultural and lowland become inundated. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:45 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 17.9 feet and falling. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage on Friday. - Flood stage is 15 feet.

Extensive flooding of agricultural land is occurring. Several local access roads are also underwater. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:15 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 38.5 feet and nearly steady. - Forecast...The river is expected to very slowly fall to near 38 feet by the end of this week. - Flood stage is 28 feet.

For the Lower Pearl River...including Bogalusa, Pearl River...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Pearl River near Pearl River. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 16.0 feet, Lower portions of streets in River Gardens Subdivision will begin to flood. Secondary roads to the river and throughout Honey Island Swamp will remain inundated. Property in the vicinity of the gage is flooded threatening about 20 homes along the left bank. The Bogue Chitto National Wildlife Refuge will be closed to hunting at the 15.5 foot stage. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:00 PM CDT Monday the stage was 14.2 feet. - Bankfull stage is 12.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 7:00 PM CDT Monday was 14.2 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to 16.5 feet Sunday evening.
