Fire Weather Watch issued April 14 at 2:41PM CDT until April 15 at 9:00PM CDT by NWS Twin Cities/Chanhassen MN

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ACROSS SOUTHERN AND WESTERN MINNESOTA MONDAY... .We will see another day with low humidity, but on Monday winds will begin to pick up across west central and south central Minnesota. These winds combined with continued dry air could create critical fire weather conditions. A Fire Weather Watch has been issued for these conditions and if they look likely to occur this will be converted into a Red Flag Warning. The National Weather Service in Twin Cities/Chanhassen has issued a Fire Weather Watch, which is in effect from Monday morning through Monday evening. * AFFECTED AREA...For Yellow Medicine, Redwood, Brown, Watonwan, and Martin Counties. * WIND... Southeast 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. * HUMIDITY...As low as 20 percent. * IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls has issued a Fire Weather Watch for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from Monday morning through Monday evening. * AFFECTED AREA...In Iowa, Lyon, Osceola, Dickinson, Sioux, O'Brien, Clay, Plymouth, Cherokee, Buena Vista, Woodbury and Ida. In Minnesota, Lincoln, Lyon, Murray, Cottonwood, Nobles, Jackson, Pipestone and Rock. In Nebraska, Dixon and Dakota. In South Dakota, Beadle, Kingsbury, Brookings, Jerauld, Sanborn, Miner, Lake, Moody, Aurora, Davison, Hanson, McCook, Minnehaha, Douglas, Hutchinson, Turner, Lincoln, Bon Homme, Yankton, Clay and Union. * WINDS...Southeast 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 20 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. The combination of low relative humidity values, warm temperatures, breezy winds, and dry fuels will result in elevated fire weather conditions this afternoon. Minimum relative humidity values will range from 20 to 30 percent with northwest winds gusting 20 to 25 mph. Under these conditions, fires will start quickly and may spread easily. Please exercise caution with any activities that involve outdoor fires or create sparks, including campfires, grilling, and operating large equipment. Cigarettes should be disposed of and extinguished properly. Please heed any local burn bans.

Northwest winds of 10 to 15 mph with gusts of 20 to 25 mph are forecast for late this morning through this afternoon. Minimum relative humidity values of 20 to 25 percent are also expected. In North Dakota, Pembina, Eastern Walsh, Grand Forks and Traill. * WINDS...Northwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 18 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fires that ignite will spread rapidly and become difficult to control.
