At 740 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from Bernice to Plank to Walker. Movement was northeast at 50 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Hazard, Hyden, Buckhorn, Big Fork, Sandy Fork, Hoskinston, Shoal, Daley, Noctor, Beech, Thousandsticks, Napier, Bulan, Stinnett, Avawam, Yeaddiss, Inverness, Saul, Warbranch, and Morris Fork. THIS INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING HIGHWAYS... Hal Rogers Parkway between mile markers 37 and 59. Kentucky Highway 80 in Perry County between mile markers 9 and 15.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of central Kentucky, including the following counties, Marion and Washington. * WHEN...Until 1045 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 733 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 2 and 4.4 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of south central Kentucky, including the following counties, McCreary and Whitley. * WHEN...Until 915 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 719 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Green River at Rochester affecting Muhlenberg, Ohio and Butler Counties. .Recent heavy rain will cause the river to rise. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Green River at Rochester. * WHEN...From this evening to early Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...At 34.0 feet, Rochester Ferry stops operation. At 37.0 feet, Reeds and Rochester Ferries remain closed. KY 369 floods one mile north of Rochester. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 5:45 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 36.1 feet. - Bankfull stage is 34.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this evening to a crest of 38.1 feet Thursday morning. For the Green River...including Paradise...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Green River at Paradise. * WHEN...From this afternoon to late Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...At 380.0 feet, Water rises over the skimmer wall at the TVA fossil plant. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 515 AM CDT Tuesday...the stage was 378.5 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this afternoon to a crest of 381.4 feet Thursday evening.
