For the Crooked River...including Richmond...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Crooked River near Richmond. * WHEN...From this afternoon to Sunday morning. * IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Low-lying rural roads along with cropland and woodlands flood. At 21.0 feet, Water begins to overtop a gravel road about 1 mile south of the F and B Highway intersection. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:30 AM CDT Friday the stage was 11.4 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this afternoon to a crest of 21.8 feet just after midnight tonight. Vernon County in west central Missouri... * Until 315 PM CDT Friday. * At 716 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Pittsburg, Nevada, Lamar, Baxter Springs, Columbus, Carl Junction, Frontenac, Galena, Arma, Liberal, Cherokee, Weir, Sheldon, Mulberry, Scammon, Mindenmines, Arcadia, Walker, Schell City, West Mineral, Treece, Lowell, Chicopee, Nashville, Franklin, Montevallo, Bronaugh, Asbury, Lamar Heights, Moundville, Milo, Waco, Roseland, Irwin, Burgess, Harwood, Yale, Iantha, Hannon and Croweburg. The James River continues to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 418 AM CDT, Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen across the James River basin over the last 24 hours. This has caused the James River to reach flood stage in east Springfield. Additional rainfall will move into the area this morning, likely causing additional rises. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
