Coastal Flood Advisory issued February 27 at 2:45PM EST until February 29 at 4:00AM EST by NWS Newport/Morehead City NC

* WHAT...1 to 2 feet of inundation above ground level expected in low- lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. * WHERE...Soundside areas along the Albemarle, Croatan, and Roanoke Sounds, Kitty Hawk Bay, Pamlico Sound, and adjacent tidal creeks. * WHEN...From 1 PM Wednesday to 4 AM EST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Up to 1 to 2 feet of inundation above ground level is possible in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways resulting in a low threat of property damage. Some roads and low lying property including parking lots, parks, lawns, and homes adjacent to the waterfront will experience shallow flooding.

* WHAT...1 to 2 feet of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. * WHERE...Areas along the oceanside beaches. * WHEN...From 1 PM Wednesday to 7 AM EST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...NC-12 on the northern end of Ocracoke Island may be closed periodically Wednesday around the times of high tide, due to lingering ocean overwash and weakened dune structure. The worse conditions are expected to occur Wednesday evening when the strongest winds and highest waves occur during the high tide around 9 PM.
