HEAVY SNOW BAND OVER PARTS OF ALBANY...RENSSELAER...BENNINGTON...WINDHAM...AND NORTHERN BERKSHIRE COUNTIES... HAZARDS...A band of heavy snow with snowfall rates 1 to 1.5 inches per hour. LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE... Albany, Schenectady, Troy, Pittsfield, Bennington, East Greenbush, Cohoes, North Adams, Brattleboro, Watervliet, Rensselaer, Colonie, Mechanicville, Hoosick Falls, Arlington, Townshend, Nassau, Stratton, Delmar, and Latham. This includes the following highways... Interstate 90 between exits 10 and 25. Interstate 890 near exit 9. Interstate 87 between exits 21A and 7, and between exits 8A and 9. Interstate 787 between exits 1 and 9. SAFETY INFO... Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Total snow accumulations between 5 and 8 inches. * WHERE...The mid-Hudson Valley, eastern Catskills, central and southern Taconics, and the Rensselaer Plateau in eastern New York, western Massachusetts, northwest Connecticut, and southern Vermont. * WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Monday. * IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be difficult to impossible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall rates up to 1 inch per hour are likely, mainly from 4PM to 12AM tonight. Increasing northwest winds gusting up to 20mph after Midnight tonight combined with chilly temperatures will result in wind chills or "feel-like temperatures" in the single digits with sub-zero readings for elevations 1000 feet and higher.
