Strong south-southwesterly winds will continue this afternoon through the early evening hours, with occasional gusts as high as 45 mph. There are also some developing showers and a few isolated thunderstorms this afternoon that could help generate stronger wind gusts up to 50 mph. If traveling on east-to-west oriented roads, be prepared for gusty crosswinds, especially in high profile vehicles. Secure all loose objects. Winds will begin to diminish by mid-evening.

In Minnesota, Pipestone and Rock. In Nebraska, Dakota. In South Dakota, Miner, Lake and Moody. * WINDS...West 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 17 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
