* WHAT...Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations of to 2 to 6 inches around lake level, 5 to 10 inches along and west of Hwy 89 and 10 to 18 inches across the Sierra Crest above 7000 feet. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph. Wind prone areas along Hwy 395 in Mono County may see gusts 60+ mph. Higher Sierra ridgetops may see gusts 100+ mph. * WHERE...Greater Lake Tahoe Area, and Mono County. * WHEN...Until 8 AM PDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Visibilities may drop below 1/2 mile due to falling snow. The strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages. Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Very strong winds could cause extensive damage to trees and power lines. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Those traveling over higher Sierra passes and recreating in the Sierra back country should expect late season wintry conditions through early Sunday morning
