High temperatures will range from the lower 90s to near 100 degrees this afternoon across the coastal plains. In addition, south to southeasterly winds will continue to provide a steady supply of moisture from the Gulf of Mexico. The hot and humid conditions will combine to produce heat index values near 108 degrees for a few locations this afternoon. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. Wear light-weight and loose fitting clothing and drink plenty of water.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the following county, Orange. * WHEN...Until 945 AM CDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 841 AM CDT, gauge reports indicated the river gage on Cow Bayou near Mauriceville is near 18.3 feet with moderate flooding occurring in the warned area. - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected.
