West wind gusting 30 to 40 mph, with occasional gusts up to 60 mph on the east side of the range during the afternoon. * WHERE...Wind River Mountains West and Wind River Mountains East. * WHEN...Until 11 PM MDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Snow amounts over South Pass will range from 2 to 4 inches. The combination of snow and wind will likely create hazardous conditions on Wyoming Highway 28 over South Pass, especially during the afternoon.

Blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Snow mobilers and hikers may become disoriented due to low visibility and blowing snow. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...This is the first wave of a two part system. A bigger, likely more impactful, storm is expected this weekend into early next week.
