At 1015 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 13 miles northwest of The Intersection Of Us- 277 And Ranch Road 189, or 17 miles southwest of Sonora, moving east at 25 mph. HAZARD...Tornado and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of west central Texas, including the following counties, Brown, Callahan, Coleman, Haskell, Jones, Shackelford, Taylor and Throckmorton. * WHEN...Until 1245 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 945 PM CDT, a band of thunderstorms with heavy rainfall extending from Throckmorton to Lake Stamford to Abilene moving east at 20 mph. Radar has estimated just over 2 inches in Anson. Be especially careful over southern Taylor and northern Coleman counties where 3 to 4 inches of rainfall fell earlier this evening. Abilene may see up to an inch of rainfall.Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area.
