Areas of fog can be expected early this morning. Fog may be locally dense with visibilities reduced to a quarter of a mile or less in spots. Fog should burn off by 9 am EDT in most areas. If you encounter dense fog, slow down and use your low beam headlights.

Tippecanoe River near Ora affecting Pulaski County. Saint Joseph River Michigan at South Bend affecting Elkhart, St. Joseph and Berrien Counties. Saint Joseph River Michigan at Three Rivers affecting Elkhart, Branch and St. Joseph MI Counties. .Recent rainfall from the remnants of Hurricane Beryl led to rises on area rivers. For the Tippecanoe River...including Ora, Winamac, Norway Dam... Moderate flooding is forecast. For the Saint Joseph River Michigan...including Three Rivers, Mottville, Elkhart IN, South Bend, Niles...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Saint Joseph River Michigan at South Bend. * WHEN...Until Wednesday evening. * IMPACTS...At 6.0 feet, Flooding is confined to mostly park land and golf courses. For the Huron River...including Hamburg...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Huron River near Hamburg. * WHEN...Until further notice. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:15 PM EDT Friday the stage was 7.2 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 7.7 feet early Sunday morning. It will then fall below flood stage Friday, July 19. - Flood stage is 7.0 feet. - Impact...At 7.0 feet, ***Flood stage*** Water begins to reach foundations and crawl spaces of many homes along the river and Ore Lake. The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy has declared an Air Quality Advisory for Saturday July 13th for elevated levels of ozone. Pollutants are expected to be in the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups range. The advisory is in effect for the following Michigan counties... St. Clair...Livingston...Oakland...Macomb...Washtenaw...Wayne and Monroe. It is recommended that, when possible, you avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with respiratory diseases such as asthma. People and businesses are urged to avoid activities which can lead to ozone formation. These activities include: refueling vehicles or topping off when refueling, using gasoline powered lawn equipment, using charcoal lighter fluid. Positive activities include: driving less, telecommuting, walking or bike riding, delaying or combining errands, using water-based paints.
