Special Weather Statement

Special Weather Statement issued March 29 at 5:03AM CDT by NWS Grand Forks ND

Through mid-morning, locations within the Devils Lake basin, southern Red River Valley, and Sheyenne River Valley can expect a brief period of moderate to heavy snow, along with light freezing rain. Greatly reduced visibility under heavy snow, quick snow accumulations of 1 to 4 inches, and potentially slick roads will make for hazardous travel conditions during the morning commute. Late morning through the afternoon, brief moderate to heavy snow and light freezing rain will still be present across the area. However, snow and ice accumulations may be limited by warm ground temperatures, limiting impacts to travel conditions outside of areas of heavier snow. After sunset this evening, snow is forecast in northwest Minnesota, with light freezing rain possibly lingering across the area tonight. Should light freezing rain linger into tonight, slick travel conditions may develop. Check road conditions...
