At 959 PM CDT, trained weather spotters reported a strong thunderstorm near Dallas Center, or 6 miles west of Grimes, moving northeast at 25 mph. Dallas Center Fire Department reported winds up to 40 mph at 954 pm. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Trained weather spotters. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. This includes Interstate 80 between mile markers 99 and 120, and between mile markers 125 and 131.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. This dangerous storm will be near... Kellogg around 1005 PM CDT. Rock Creek Lake, Oakland Acres, and Rock Creek State Park around 1010 PM CDT. Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include Kellogg, Oakland Acres, Rock Creek State Park, and Newton Municipal Airport. This includes Interstate 80 between mile markers 166 and 180.
