At 959 PM CDT, trained weather spotters reported a strong thunderstorm near Dallas Center, or 6 miles west of Grimes, moving northeast at 25 mph. Dallas Center Fire Department reported winds up to 40 mph at 954 pm. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Trained weather spotters. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. This includes Interstate 80 between mile markers 99 and 120, and between mile markers 125 and 131.

Tornado Warning issued April 26 at 9:59PM CDT until April 26 at 10:30PM CDT by NWS Des Moines IA

At 958 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Reasnor, or 7 miles southeast of Newton, moving northeast at 40 mph. HAZARD...Tornado and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. This dangerous storm will be near... Kellogg around 1005 PM CDT. Rock Creek Lake, Oakland Acres, and Rock Creek State Park around 1010 PM CDT. Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include Kellogg, Oakland Acres, Rock Creek State Park, and Newton Municipal Airport. This includes Interstate 80 between mile markers 166 and 180.

A FEW TORNADOES LIKELY WITH A COUPLE INTENSE TORNADOES POSSIBLE. SCATTERED LARGE HAIL AND ISOLATED VERY LARGE HAIL EVENTS TO 2.5 INCHES IN DIAMETER LIKELY. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southwest Iowa, including the following counties, Harrison and Shelby. * WHEN...Until 1045 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 736 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
