* WHAT...High risk of rip currents expected and minor coastal flooding possible. * WHERE...Gulf-facing beaches, including the Matagorda Peninsula, Brazoria County beaches, Galveston Island and the Bolivar Peninsula. * WHEN...Now through Monday morning. * IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. Flooding of lots, parks, and roads possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Localized minor coastal flooding will be possible during times of high tide mainly near Galveston Bay. Water levels are expected to be around 3.5 to 4.0 ft above MLLW during high tide cycles going into early next week. At 3.7ft, water may begin to reach Highway 87 at Highway 124 on Bolivar Peninsula, and on Beach Drive near Blue Water Highway in Surfside. At 4.0ft, water may start to flood portions of Highway 6 between I-45 and Hitchcock. Water may also start to flood portions of Toddville road, Red Bluff road, West Bayshore road, and Highway 124 near High Island. The lowest streets along Jamaica Beach may flood.
