Special Weather Statement issued April 17 at 6:29AM EDT by NWS Jacksonville FL

Areas of fog have persisted along the Atlantic Coastal Counties of Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia this morning and will likely continue through mid morning. Some of the fog will become locally dense with visibilities below one mile along the I-95 and US 17 corridors until 9AM. Due to the patchy nature of the fog, rapid changes in visibility will be possible over short distances while driving.

For the Withlacoochee River...including Valdosta (Skipper Bridge Rd), Quitman (US 84), Pinetta (CR 150)...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Withlacoochee River above Valdosta (Skipper Bridge Rd). * WHEN...Until early tomorrow afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 135.0 feet, Minor flooding begins. On the Ware County side, the Jamestown Road Boat Ramp is flooded. On the Pierce/Brantley county line at the State Road 121 Bridge the boat ramp and dirt access roads are flooded. At 17.0 feet, On the Ware County side, the Jamestown Road Boat Ramp parking lot and access road is flooded and Simmons Trail is flooded cutting off one residence. On the Pierce County side, the Okefenokee Country Club Course Holes 14 through 16 begin to flood. At 18.0 feet, On the Pierce County side, the Okefenokee Country Club Golf Course is generally closed. Additional information is available at https://water.noaa.gov The next statement will be issued Wednesday evening at 930 PM EDT. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Alapaha River at Statenville. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 92.0 feet, Griner Road in Mayday begins to flood. This isolates 10 homes in the area. Flooding along the road subsides 2 to 3 days after the river crests in Statenville or when the river falls below 96 feet. At 100.0 feet, The boat ramp near the gauge and adjacent parking lot are flooded.
