...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Alabama... Big Nance Creek at Courtland affecting Lawrence County. * WHAT...Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Big Nance Creek at Courtland. * WHEN...Until early Tuesday morning. * IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Water is approaching homes south of downtown Courtland...with several streets impassible. Water reaches the underside of the bridge at Old Highway 20 in Courtland. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 11:00 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 19.8 feet. - Bankfull stage is 12.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 11:00 AM CDT Sunday was 19.8 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 21.5 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage tomorrow evening. - Flood stage is 14.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 21.5 feet on 02/13/1948. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of southeast Alabama, including the following areas, Coffee, Dale, Geneva, Henry and Houston, Florida, including the following areas, Calhoun, Coastal Bay, Coastal Franklin, Coastal Gulf, Holmes, Inland Bay, Inland Franklin, Inland Gulf, Jackson, Liberty and Washington, and southwest Georgia, including the following areas, Calhoun, Clay, Early, Miller, Quitman, Randolph and Seminole. * WHEN...Through this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Additional scattered showers and thunderstorms today will produce localized heavy rainfall on top of saturated soils.
