Heavy Rains in the Southeast; Heatwave in California - 10-03 to 10-05
CONUS — For folks in the Gulf Coast and the Southeast, get ready for a soggy Sunday. A tropical wave is bringing lots of rain, and we're looking at up to 7 inches along the Alabama coast. This heavy rain might cause some flooding, especially near the coast. By Sunday night, the rain will start to ease as a weather system pushes farther south.
Warm Up! Heatwave Hits California
Over in California, things are heating up! A high-pressure system is bringing a big October heatwave. Temperatures in places like Los Angeles, CA and San Diego, CA will hit the 90s, with some Central Valley spots reaching 100 degrees. Even at night, it will stay warm, so make sure to stay cool and hydrated.
Midwest and Northeast: Cool and Wet
The Upper Midwest and Great Lakes regions will see scattered showers and storms until Sunday morning. By early Monday, a cold front could bring more rain and storms to New England. Watch out for some heavy showers in the interior areas.
Looking Ahead: Cold Conditions Up North
In the Northern U.S., a cold air mass is bringing chillier weather. Early morning frost advisories and freeze warnings are in effect for parts of Wisconsin and Michigan. Keep those jackets handy!
