Bahamas and Caribbean: Light Showers Ahead
Tropical Storm Belt — For the Bahamas, expect light rain through Wednesday due to moisture from easterly winds and a nearby front. Rainfall will be around 15mm. From Wednesday to Thursday, moisture will continue bringing light showers over northern Bahamas. In the Caribbean, a trough near Cuba will lead to rain through Wednesday morning with about 15mm accumulation. A low-pressure system could bring more rain Wednesday to Thursday, with similar totals expected. In the Lesser Antilles, a tropical wave will cause rain through Wednesday, bringing approximately 15mm of rain, moving toward Puerto Rico to increase showers from Wednesday to Thursday morning, and further extending to Hispaniola by Thursday through Friday.
Mexico and Central America: Thunderstorms and Rainfall
In Mexico, thunderstorms and rain are expected over the Sierra Madre Occidental from today until Wednesday, with rainfall between 25-50mm. Light rain will hit Baja California with about 10mm due to a low-pressure area. Southern Mexico can expect rain up to Wednesday from a tropical wave causing 15-30mm accumulations. After Wednesday, rain will likely decrease but scattered showers remain over the south. Heavier rain and thunderstorms will persist along the Sierra Madre Occidental due to continuous atmospheric disturbances.
In Central America, especially over Costa Rica and Panama, high moisture levels and Caribbean winds could bring rain. From Wednesday to Thursday, northeastern Costa Rica may see 25-50mm of rain.
Tropical South America: Intense Amazon Rain
From today through Wednesday in the Amazon regions of Colombia, Peru, and Brazil, expect heavy rain and thunderstorms as moisture gathers. Rain will continue through the week over northern areas including Colombia and Venezuela. Light rain is also expected along the Pacific coasts of Colombia and Ecuador though weaker winds keep accumulations lower.
