At 502 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Snowshoe, or 10 miles west of Cass Scenic Railroad, moving east at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Cass Scenic Railroad, Greenbank, Snowshoe, Mingo, Durbin, Dunmore, and Slaty Fork.

Flood Advisory issued April 16 at 4:38PM EDT until April 16 at 6:45PM EDT by NWS Blacksburg VA

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of Greenbrier County in southeast West Virginia. * WHEN...Until 645 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 438 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Burns Run, Big Run, Cold Knob Fork, Beaver Creek, Boggs Run, Elijah Branch, Greenbrier River, Beech Run, Improvement Branch, Dry Run, Fitzwater Branch and Big Clear Creek. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Renick...
