Patchy dense fog is expected this morning, which will at times restrict visibilities to a quarter mile or less. Due to the patchy nature of the fog, visibilities can change rapidly over short distances while driving.

Areas of fog will continue to develop south of the I-16 corridor in Southeast Georgia and up in the Beaufort and Hilton Head areas of coastal South Carolina through sunrise. The fog could become locally dense at time with visibilities dropping to 1/4 mile or less. The nature of the fog is such that visibilities will vary greatly over short distances. Motorists should remain alert for these conditions this morning. If widespread dense fog develops, a Dense Fog Advisory will be issued.
