* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...This Flood Watch includes extreme eastern Connecticut, central and eastern Massachusetts including the Cape and Islands, as well as all of Rhode Island. * WHEN...Through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Rainfall totals between 1 and 2.5 inches will be common across the region. Taunton River Near Bridgewater affecting Plymouth and Bristol Counties. For the Pawcatuck River...including Westerly...Minor flooding is forecast. For the Taunton River...including Bridgewater...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Pawcatuck River at Westerly. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 8.0 feet, Floodwaters approach lowest lying homes along Hiscox Road in Westerly. Along Route 3, flooding occurs at some homes in French Village in Hopkinton. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:00 PM EDT Thursday the stage was 6.7 feet. - Bankfull stage is 7.0 feet. - Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage late this evening to 7.3 feet tomorrow morning. It will then fall late tomorrow morning. It will rise to 8.0 feet Saturday afternoon.
