Blackfoot River near Shelley (Wolverine Canyon) affecting Bingham County. .Snow melt and increased reservoir releases will cause the river flows to become high. Expect minor flooding downstream from the dam. * WHAT...No flooding is currently forecast. * WHERE...Blackfoot River near Shelley (Wolverine Canyon). * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 8.5 feet, From the mouth of Wolverine Canyon upstream to the Blackfoot Dam, water flooding may be possible. Unimproved campgrounds may have water seeping or ponding in them along with strong flows at river's edge. Flat areas along the river and croplands may have water ponding. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:30 AM MDT Friday the stage was 8.4 feet. - Forecast...No forecast is available for this location. - Flood stage is 8.5 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 8.4 feet on 06/05/1983. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Blackfoot River near Blackfoot (Butte Rd-Ft Hall) affecting Bingham County. .Snow melt and increased reservoir releases will cause the river flows to become high. Expect minor flooding downstream from the dam. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring. This approaches the flood of record. * WHERE...Blackfoot River near Blackfoot (Butte Rd-Ft Hall). * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 5.8 feet, Lowland flooding possible from Interstate 15 to confluence of the Snake River. Homes and cattle operation near Riverton Road (900 W) bridge just north of Ferry Butte Road (500 S) will start to have water seeping near them. Other locations will have water approaching roadways between 550 W and Blackhawk Road. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:30 AM MDT Friday the stage was 6.1 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 10:30 AM MDT Friday was 6.3 feet. - Forecast...No forecast is available for this location. - Flood stage is 5.8 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 6.2 feet on 04/18/2017. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Portneuf River at Pocatello affecting Bannock County. .Warm temperatures will melt high mountain snowpack and increase river flows. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Portneuf River at Pocatello. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 9.2 feet, Flooding of low lying agricultural land and pasture will occur in the Inkom and Blackrock area. Portneuf River at Topaz affecting Bannock County. .Warm temperatures will melt high mountain snowpack and increase river flows. * WHAT...Flooding caused by snowmelt is expected. * WHERE...Portneuf River at Topaz. * WHEN...From this morning until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 4.0 feet, Lowland and crop field flooding possible from Pebble Creek to Inkom. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:15 AM MDT Friday the stage was 3.8 feet. - Forecast...The river will fall to 3.7 feet this afternoon. It will then rise to 3.9 feet Sunday evening. It will fall to 3.8 feet Monday evening. It will then rise to 3.9 feet Friday, May 17.
