* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Henderson County in central Texas... Eastern Navarro County in north central Texas... * WHEN...Until 530 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Overflowing poor drainage areas. Some low-water crossings may become impassable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 133 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Overflowing poor drainage areas will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 2 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Corsicana, Athens, Gun Barrel City, Mabank, Malakoff, Tool, Kerens, Seven Points, Eustace, Trinidad, Angus, Enchanted Oaks, Caney City, Navarro, Trinidad Lake, Forest Grove Reservoir, Cedar Creek Reservoir, Flag Lake, Purtis Creek State Park and Richland-Chambers Reservoir.

FFWFWD The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for... North Central Bell County in central Texas... Southeastern Coryell County in central Texas... Southwestern McLennan County in central Texas... * Until 415 PM CDT. * At 120 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 3 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Temple, Harker Heights, Belton, McGregor, Nolanville, Morgan's Point Resort, Moody, Mother Neff State Park, Belton Lake, Oglesby, Whitson, White Hall, Owl Creek, Meadow Grove, The Grove, Moffat, Woodland, Leon Junction and Flat.

* WHAT...Dangerous rip currents. * WHERE...Gulf-facing beaches, including the Matagorda Peninsula, Brazoria County beaches, Galveston Island and the Bolivar Peninsula. * WHEN...Through Sunday morning. * IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water.

Coastal Flood Statement

* WHAT...Isolated minor coastal flooding expected. * WHERE...Kenedy Island, Willacy Island and Cameron Island Counties. * WHEN...From this evening through Sunday morning. * IMPACTS...Wave run-up may approach the dunes along narrow beaches. Beach equipment, such as umbrellas and chairs, could be moved by waves. Vehicles driving along narrow beaches may experience higher water levels. Elevated water levels may also occur across the Laguna Madre and South Bay, and along State Highway 4 west of Boca Chica State Park. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Peak inundation will occur just before and after high tide at 222 AM.

When a severe thunderstorm warning is issued, the storm may produce damaging winds, large hail, dangerous lightning, and heavy rain. In some cases, heavy rainfall produced by a severe storm can also lead to flash flooding. Do not drive vehicles through flooded areas.
