* WHAT...Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. * WHERE...The lower Cape Fear River including downtown Wilmington. * WHEN...From 7 PM to 10 PM EDT this evening. * IMPACTS...The lowest portions of USS North Carolina Road and Battleship Road begin to observe minor coastal flooding. Water begins to spread out of storm drains onto Water Street just south of Market Street in downtown Wilmington. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Affected areas listed are based on average tide conditions. Additional locations may experience flooding during periods of heavy rainfall, high winds, or other factors.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Goldsboro, Mount Olive, Fremont, Walnut Creek, Stantonsburg, Pikeville, Eureka, Seven Springs, Mar-Mac, and Brogden.

At 225 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Littleton to near Halifax to 15 miles west of Rich Square to near Scotland Neck. Movement was northeast at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and heavy rain. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Reduced visibility and minor flooding possible. Strong thunderstorms will be near... Roanoke Rapids, Garysburg, and Gaston around 240 PM EDT. Rich Square and Seaboard around 250 PM EDT. Roxobel and Barley around 255 PM EDT. Dahlia and Woodland around 300 PM EDT. Conway around 310 PM EDT. Claresville around 315 PM EDT. Emporia around 320 PM EDT. Other locations impacted by these storms include Eagletown, Milwaukee, Adams Grove, Kelford, Earleys, Gum Forks, Bufford Crossroads, Lanes Corner, Menola, and Pleasant Shade.
