Illinois River near Tahlequah affecting Cherokee County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Illinois River near Tahlequah. * WHEN...Until late this evening. * IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, minor flooding occurs from near Hanging Rock downstream towards Tahlequah. Extreme turbulence makes the river too hazardous for floating. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:30 AM CDT Monday the stage was 11.7 feet. - Forecast...The river is near its forecast crest of 11.8 feet and will begin falling late this morning. Neosho River near Commerce affecting Ottawa County. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Neosho River near Commerce. * WHEN...Until Wednesday morning. * IMPACTS...At 19.0 feet, low lying areas around Miami become cut off from easy access. Riverview Park experiences moderate flooding. State Highway 125 near the fairgrounds will be threatened. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:30 AM CDT Monday the stage was 18.1 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 19.0 feet around midnight tonight and remain near 19 feet through mid morning Tuesday. It will then fall below flood stage early Wednesday morning. - Flood stage is 15.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
